Saturday, March 20, 2010 - 17:35 GMT i would like to get some components to replace my full range alpine type s speakers. but i would also like a good 4-channel amp for them. ive always just powered my mids with the deck. any one using a 4-channel that their really impressed with? what brands and configurations should i be looking for. P.S.- im only looking for 100 watts per channel. thanks in advance..

Saturday, March 20, 2010 - 22:25 GMT Alpine makes some good 4 channel amps as well. 100WPC is a lot for components, you know. You can probably do just fine and very loud with about half that power.

Saturday, March 20, 2010 - 23:06 GMT yeah, thats a good point glasswolf. but i just wanted to make sure it would supply enough power if i decided to upgrade to better components in the future, or mabe even going to a 3-way component like yourself. thanks for the input though, keep it coming

Sunday, March 21, 2010 - 01:29 GMT yeah just saying for a pair of separates or coaxials, if you look, most are only rated for continuous (RMS) power of about 35-65 watts, so going over that can damage the speakers. My separates are rated for 200 watts at most, continuous, and that's for a 3-way setup. I'm giving them 250WRMS per channel, but I have the amp set up not to feed them all it's got. I really don't want to kill the speakers. I just had the amp handy so I used what I had instead of buying another, smaller amp.
