Silver Member Username: GrmncrsnbrVA Post Number: 115 Registered: Jun-04 | Could you guys make lists of the brands you recommend paossibly in each forum but mainly amp and subs. These questions seem to be posted so often. This would make it easier on people looking and we could keep it going by having ppl post expiriences with the listed brands. |

Silver Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 674 Registered: May-04 | The problem with making that list is that the people asking these questions are too lazy to search for it in the first place, for example, Audiobahn's poor quality has been mentioned in numerous posts, but it keeps coming up b/c people are too lazy to search for it. |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 3666 Registered: Dec-03 | that, and they see the list then argue about it. I don't care if someone agrees with me or not that power acoustik or SPL or whatever sucks. That list is mine, and it's maintained by myself and about 3 or 4 others.. It's there for general reference, but by no means is it set in concrete. |
Silver Member Username: GrmncrsnbrVA Post Number: 118 Registered: Jun-04 | well for the ones of us who search we thank you hahaha. I like having some direction before i go and search for products because there are so many out there its rediculous. Personally id rather take the advice of experienced ppl than of some random guy who isnt even registered |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 3669 Registered: Dec-03 | feel free to question something if you have doubts about the list on a specific item. now and then a questionable company has a good product or vice versa. |
Bronze Member Username: Bruhneedluv2Post Number: 59 Registered: May-04 | let me do you one better and had the websites over to you all. You know Canada has some great websites like this one: http://www.mobile-sound-sys.com/html/manf.htm |

Bronze Member Username: Bruhneedluv2Post Number: 61 Registered: May-04 | for glasswolf, I just found out I was mistaken when I saw that guy's system, that it was not Power Acoustik!!!! The guy had COUSTIC in his Bronco. I feel so crazy!!! LMAO!!!! Oh well, Let's see how long my Kole MWFs last me. I went to this shop out in Eldorado, AR and the owner of Avo's Subs and Wheels shop there had three main lines of subs: Coustic, Orion, and the new Punch series with the flat pistons. That guy said he can get anything I wanted for cheaper than any web price as long as I paid cash. (sidebar) but Coustic was the subs in his bronco. I stand corrected!!! |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 3726 Registered: Dec-03 | Coustic's got some nice stuff for the price, which is in the more affordable range for most folks. I used to be a Coustic dealer as well. Right about the time their Power Logic amps came out.. those were nice amps and a massive leap forward in quality over their old first gen black AMP-??? series stuff. Their signal processing is nice, too. Things like the XM series crossovers. |
Bronze Member Username: Bruhneedluv2Post Number: 62 Registered: May-04 | let me ask you this: what lines do you carry in your shop? |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 3735 Registered: Dec-03 | I don't work for a retail store any longer, myself. When I did, we carried.. *thinks* Alpine Eclipse PPI (art series) Orion (SX, GX, HCCA, XTR, Cobalt) Kicker JVC Digifine Pioner Premiere (dropped Sony back around 1990) Boston Acoustics Coustic Phoenix Gold Clifford I think we had a couple other brands, but those come to mind immediately. |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 3736 Registered: Dec-03 | oh yeah, carried a/d/s back in the 80s too.. but dropped them later as well. didn't sell very well. too expensive. |
Bronze Member Username: Bruhneedluv2Post Number: 72 Registered: May-04 | I think I have another list that I will share with everyone. As I find out the makers of the products, I will go from there. That way people will know what type of quality they are getting. I will piece it together little by little. |

Silver Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 726 Registered: May-04 | Yeah, you can tell Alphasonik is a subsidiary of Audiobahn. Just look at all the Alpha symbols on their speakers. It's plain out ridiculous, there are ones the tweeter, all around the perimeter of the basket, running along mounting flange, and the magnet is covered in them. And I thought the flames looked gaudy. All looks. |
