I would look around before you get rockford junk haha, just my experience.

May i ask why do you want 4.5s in the front
Have you considered 6" or 6.5"s?

dude, why no sub? for $800 you can get a sweet little system going....

- 4 channel amp rated at 50 watts per channel @ 4ohms
- set of component speakers for the front
- single sub with a well built enclosure

use the front two channels of the amp to power the components and bridge the rear channels to power a sub. Not sure why you're against having a sub, but if you don't want a "boomy" car, get a sealed enclosure and you'll get nice tight punchy bass that will compliment any type of music.

if you really don't want a sub, then use the rear channels of the amp to power some midbass speakers (not 2-ways), and be sure to add a low pass filter or use the crossover built into the amp to filter out the high frequencies. High frequencies from the rear will wreck your soundstage. http://glasswolf.net/papers/rearfill.html

in general stay away from 6x9's, and if you can somehow fit 5.25" components in the front, they'll sound much much better than any 4.5" speakers you can buy.
