New member Username: RoshankvPost Number: 1 Registered: Feb-10 | I was wondering what is a good 10 inch sub that I can get under 300$ + enclosure. To work with my 2 channel alpine amp and pioneer deck. Or would it be better if I got 2 cheap subs instead. I saw 150 for 2 kicker comp C's with enclosure used ofocourse. |

New member Username: RoshankvPost Number: 2 Registered: Feb-10 | hmm..k Any recommendations...I tried to find a cheap kicker solo x 10 but it's still about 380$ atleast! without box. so it'll cost me like 500$ installed! |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 13445 Registered: Jun-04 | well i take it from your choice in speaker your looking for an spl sub. Id suggest a audioque hdc3 10 or 12 if you can fit it....how much power is your alpine amp |

Gold Member Username: MendonmafiaUSA Post Number: 1943 Registered: Aug-06 | 12 will be noticeably louder than a 10 for sure |

New member Username: RoshankvPost Number: 5 Registered: Feb-10 | damit looked up my amp alpine mrp m500 500watts rms max. So please help me find one in that range thanks http://www.crutchfield.com/S-1omwVk8cOMc/p_500MRPM500/Alpine-MRP-M500.html EDIT: so I guess you guys are not fans of the kicker. the solo X won internatinal awards! which is why I assumed their mid range also must be good. I had an alpine type R before this and it was a good sub. Still looking for a good sub in lansing,MI |
Silver Member Username: Wackzirth88K-town, Il U.S. Post Number: 279 Registered: May-09 | Not many fans of kicker here and the solo x is pure spl with the sq of a shart, loud n sloppy. U didn't like the type r? Did u have it in a good enclosure? |
Silver Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 731 Registered: Nov-05 | u could try a cerwin vega vmax 10 i love mine and it hits pretty hard |
New member Username: RoshankvPost Number: 6 Registered: Feb-10 | no I loved my type R. But at that time I had only a few choices and just quickly bought one! I thought of trying something else incase there was a better alternative :D |
New member Username: Jay_boyRochester, NY Usa Post Number: 2 Registered: Feb-10 | I bought 2 8w7s instead of the 10. I want accurate response and real HARD hitting bass. Will it work? I haven't installed yet. The box is sealed (jl specs) |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 13480 Registered: Jun-04 | should sound good but i doubt hard hitting |
New member Username: Jay_boyRochester, NY Usa Post Number: 8 Registered: Feb-10 | Why Sean? What did I not do right? |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 13481 Registered: Jun-04 | they are only 8's and you only have 500 watts total |
New member Username: Jay_boyRochester, NY Usa Post Number: 9 Registered: Feb-10 | Sean, Putting in 2 10w7s was a possibility but after all the w7 research, it was the 8w7 that got the rave reviews. 10w7 doesn't have much press. I thought sealed would make them punchier. There are 2 of them with 750 rms (not 500) from the JL 750 hd (not a bs amp). I'm not trying to break any records, just want some solid accurate hits. Example, If i'm listening to Rush and Neil Pert jammin on the drums, I want to hear it accurately but with force too. WTF, is this setup going to be weak? |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 13513 Registered: Jun-04 | id expect the 8w7's to hit in 120's db wise which is ok for daily listening but not thunderous by any means. Its good you have the 750 I think your not really an spl guy but an sq guy (sound quality) and youll be happy with what you got |
Bronze Member Username: Jay_boyRochester, NY Usa Post Number: 11 Registered: Feb-10 | Sean or anyone else who can help quickly. I am almost ready to install the above mentioned equipment. I am keeping my stock head unit in my 09 Elantra. What do I need for "line converter" and such? Jl has a cleansweep ($200) A bit expensive and I think that's used if you have a Nav system in the head unit. However, I will eventually be hooking up a 4 channel amp also to run the inside speakers. There is no Navigation system in the car, just built in XM radio and steering wheel controls. |
New member Username: RoshankvPost Number: 7 Registered: Feb-10 | I went ahead and got 2 alpint type R's 10 because I got a really good deal and they occupy less space. I do need a recommendation on an amplifier though thanks. something 1000rms |
