I have been looking at the rd alpha and the fi btl. Is the rd alpha a good subwoofer or is is sh=t. I liked the fi btl but they are expensive. I only want to spend around 400 dollars and i want one subwoofer that can handle 2000 rms watts. The rd alpha is rated at 2500 rms and the fi btl is rated at 2000 rms. Need you guys help, Thanks
alpha is rated 1500/2000 but will be fine on 2000 if its CLEAN power, in other words not clipped and minimal distortion.
I run a pair of 12's and there great subs im giving them between 1500 and 2k rms and there fine on that power. I also have a 15" btl that i still need to try out yet but build quality is amazing and im sure it will do work, just look at the youtube vids of the btl.
I got some vids of my alphas on you tube that will probably impress you as well. link to one look at my other vids to find more. btw the vid of the "problem" was due to to large of a port area.
yeah i got a buddy that lives in York Nebraska that has 2 15s HDC3 that i help him install. i'm not trying to dog them hard i'm just say they were nothing like my alpha's. but if the setup makes you happy that's all what matters
I just get around a lot believe it or not haha, i'll be down in GA this or next month soon working with a new setup
Ya hdc3's get loud, but i dont really care for the way they sound. they dont say bad by any means, i just wouldnt say they sound good imo. I wish I could hear more setups lol. What did you ever do with that fi q?
To the OP, do you have an amp yet? what kind of music do you listen to?
Keep in mind that it depends less on how much power you plan on putting to it and how clean that power is and how clean you want it to sound. I hope your charging system can handle that. Either way, I'd pick the alpha.
I've been toying with the idea of getting another D2 15" Alpha v3. I had promised my second amp to a buddy but he can't come up with the money.. and I don't have cash for a HO alt yet.
