Quick Simple question

I believe the sub is rated at 500 RMS (250 each VC). If the VC is 4ohms, can it only be wired for a 4 ohm load? I was looking at the Alpine MRP-M650 or Alpine MRP-M500 to power this- is this enough???

A DVC 4ohm sub can be wired to an amp @ 2ohms??? thanks
