Monday, January 18, 2010 - 22:38 GMT When calculating the volume of a box for a sub do you have to take into consideration the volume of the sub? Right now the dimensions I have come up with is external dimensons are 13.5inches deep, 23.5inches wide, 15inches high, wood thickness is .75 with a 1.5inch thick front internal dimensions would therefore be 11inches deep, 22inches wide, 13.5inches high for a total internal volume of 1.89ft^3 the sub is 12" 8.5inches deep therefore pi*0.5^2*0.708=0.556 1.89-0.556=1.334 ft^3 and with bracing ill be about 1.3ft^3 Can somebody please confirm me these numbers, ichecked them 3 times they seem to be right

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 - 01:00 GMT the SD usually isnt huge so just make the box a wee bit bigger then you have it. REcalc will help you with the box specs.. http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 - 03:00 GMT I havent took the time to acually look at the specs of the box and sd but say the box is 1.3 after the sub displacement and the sd is a cube (CUBE IS AN EXAMPLE!!) then make the box 2.3 so it'll be 1.3 after the sd. ..yeah.. i think thats right P.S. Email will work better then PM..
