Nice work so far. |

Gold Member Username: Wolf_houndPhoenix, AZ Post Number: 1112 Registered: Sep-05 | lol you used way too many screws dawg |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 151 Registered: Sep-09 | maybe it will be strong? |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3D&L Audio Tech.Dustin Post Number: 5218 Registered: Oct-05 | looks great man. having more screws adds very little strength to the box, the screws are in there really to only "clamp" the panels together while the glue drys. Screws ever 3-4" for future ref. Once again, nice job! |
Diamond Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 21739 Registered: Jun-06 | Lol. Looks like the riveted fuselage of a WW2 bomber. I hope you predrilled all those holes. 1st box behind you FTW. |

Post Number: 15793 Registered: Jul-05 | waaaaaaaaaay too many screws used - i bet that amt wud be enough to do 2 boxes ...like BM3 said 3-4" is good u did a number on the "circle" cuts lol & u see that little bit of wood left between the 2 subs - that a weak spot , expect some flex there , i suggest to remedy it that u double baffle the front as its ur 1st time - its not too bad at all .... |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 152 Registered: Sep-09 | I had very few tools, no clamps, and home depo fucked me on a few of the cuts |
Diamond Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 21740 Registered: Jun-06 | Space to work is a must also. It looks like you were lacking enough of it too. Still thinking about the painted d1ck thing lol? |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3D&L Audio Tech.Dustin Post Number: 5220 Registered: Oct-05 | if your going to finish it with anything fill in the screw holes with some putty, let it dry then sand it down a bit. would look alot better |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 153 Registered: Sep-09 | well you know dustin, i asked you how far to space the screws and i dont think you ever told me lol, so over kill it is. i will post something when i get it painted and installed. |
Diamond Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 21750 Registered: Jun-06 | Just for future reference though too many screws actually weakens the box. That's why I asked if you pre drilled. If you didn't, each screw is acting like a wedge. The closer they are to each other the higher the probability it will split in time. |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15798 Registered: Jul-05 | ^^^yes i agree with that too many screws actually weakens the box , let the glue do its job ... |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 157 Registered: Sep-09 | what glue lol, kidding, but i did a bad job with the glue, but pre drilled and counter sunk all the holes. |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3D&L Audio Tech.Dustin Post Number: 5225 Registered: Oct-05 | i am pretty sure i told you every 3-4" charles lol |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 158 Registered: Sep-09 | nope lol. |
