i have a 1000/1 jl amp and 2 12 w7s when i play some certain rap songs there is so much bass that my unit skips like there is no tommorow and it is a eclipse cd 8443,, my last alpine deck skipped even worse. Is there anyway to fix this and is this a common promblem with people who have serious systems?

this is not a common problem something is probably touching the top or bottom of your hu. I had that same problem I have 4 12w6. Just look around and move wires out of the way, if it helps , I put packaging foam on the top and bottom of mine went away immediately. Also if your HU is an older model it might not have as much protection as more recent ones.
