ok my friend has ~500 bucks to spend on an 18. he wants it to be wicked loud and low right now he's thinking about the BTL 18, but he's still open to other options. Will be run daily. Amp(s) will be determined by sub choice.

i see that youre in michigan as well. i have a DD9515G i would sell to your friend. theyre not known for getting low but they sure do get loud.
i also have a 4.5 cube fisher custom box thats tuned to 40 hz. id sell him the sub and the box for $400. and if he needs and amp - i have a RD3250.1 v1.
id sell all of it for $800. i have extra wire and stuff lying around too if he needs that
