Is screwing your amp to your box dangerous?

I heard it rattles the inside like crazy and will damage the amp. is this true?

if you must put the amp on the box use a 2x4 for the mounting of the amp so the amps not flush against the box will stop the vibrations

If at all possible, don't mount to the box.

Yes it is. Do not mount amplifiers to a speaker box.

I'm running a system right now with 8,000 watts (peak) going to 4 PA FUBAR 12's, all wired down to 1 ohm. Incredible amount of bass / vibration in the car (VW Beetle). I "sort of" mounted my amps onto the box, there's actually an amp rack (board) mounted to the front of the box, and the amps are put onto that. In a year I've had zero problems with the set-up and no amp damage of any kind. I wouldn't mount an amp *directly* onto the sub box, but you can be creative and get it "close".
