New member Username: XxemoxxHermosa beach, Cali Post Number: 1 Registered: Sep-09 | P.P.I. does make some nice components but the tweeters for me just are not bright enough, look on ebay for the price you want to spend you can get a nice set of Boston sl60's or if your lucky a good set of the german made mb quart pce 216's Both way better then the PPI's. Also ADS and the HCCA orions are very nice with a good solid mid-bass driver. The alpine amp you have is a great choice for the price amazing, just remember you are buying S.Q. quality components so you want to get an amp that will provide clean signal at 4ohms. Comp's at 2 ohms just sound awful. Anyway just some friendly advice and good luck. |

Note the "Tri-guard amplifier protection" this is power surge and thermal overload protection that the alpine will not offer also most alpine do not use dual or tri-mode (2 Ohms front speaker and 4 Ohms rear speaker = dual mode) the SoundStream you picked hands down is better than the alpine. for these two reasons. P.S. I learned that Alpine does not do dual mode the hard way the poor amp (MRP-F250) was so hot that I could not even touch it for 30 mins after it fried. |
