Silver Member Username: Imi4tth3wSan Antonio, Texas USA Post Number: 230 Registered: Feb-07 | well im lazy and dont wanna wait til tomorrow to call steve so i wanna get this box started today. i just picked up some 3/4" mdf and all the other good stuff and a friend is on his way with a bunch of other tools. anyways on for the box info its going in an 01 tahoe and its one of the new 18" RD Alphas. going to be a daily driver but i like it to pound. i listen to a lot of everything, rap, country, rock, so no real specific tuning. my previous sub was a 15" L5 so im not too worried about SQ. I talked to steve earlier and he said these do well in 5.5 cubic feet with 60 square inches of port. im thinkin about tuning it to 35Hz and basically all i really need to know is how long should i make the port length to achieve that. the rest should be pretty easy. i plan on doing a double layer of MDF on the front panel where the sub is and line the entire inside of the box with resin. anyways thanks for any help! |
