Bronze Member Username: HockeytokerPost Number: 55 Registered: Jul-09 | i was wondering if the audioque 2200 watt amp was under rated at all? or will it put out 2200watts at 1ohms. http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps2200D.htm also if im a couple hundred watts under the subs peak out put will it forsure not blow the subs or will it blow them/damage them at all? thanks! |

Even if power compression weren't a factor that's only a theoretical increase of <1dB. Another issue -- the 1500.1 is 1500w at 2 ohms, the 2200d is 2200w at 1 ohm. That presents an impedance mis-match with one amp or the other. Do you have dual 2's or 4's? What size/type of enclosure are you using? |

Just get a rd3250 v2 pre sale from steve 425shipped just 36 dollars more of what the AQ is and you get 1000+ more watts. If you dont need the extra wattage now just adjust your gain . But eventually you might need it and you wont have to upgrade cause you will already have a kick @ss amp. I just ordered one and I just need 2k watts for now. check this thread. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/586696.html |
