New member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 1 Registered: Aug-09 | i have a 99 malibu, and i want a good loud, but clean output, they would be pushed by a AQ2200, and i know bout ho alt and good battery. box setup is subs up port back (trunk), and 5.6cubes after subs and port displacement, so 1.4cu for each, and tuned @ 32hz i also have no experience with the R's, so my 2 main questions is.... 1.will exact setup be LOUD for daily driver? 2.will it have GOOD SQ, being @ 32hz tuning? please put your input for this daily driver, GREATLY appretiated |

Yes they will be loud and yes they will have good SQ. For the money your setup will be hard to top. |

New member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 3 Registered: Aug-09 | can someone tell me if this amp is new or if it is refurbished? just wondering cause i aint never found a t2000 rockford for 550$ http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2808_Rockford+Fosgate+Power+T20001bd.html# |
Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 3007 Registered: Oct-07 | yes it is new. It's probably because the new line from RF is coming out or is out. |
New member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 4 Registered: Aug-09 | thanks snow for info, NEW!!! is the RF worth 160$ more knowing that its fan cooled(dont like amps getting hot)?? ive heard the T-series are great amps, and they say a t200bd does from 2001rms to like 2800rms, is that also true? |
New member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 5 Registered: Aug-09 | i mean 160$ more than aq 2200 |
Silver Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 680 Registered: Nov-05 | the t series r good amps and never looked for the t2000 but i have found the t1500 never for around 450 i believe but its been awhile so u might be able to find it for that price |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15370 Registered: Jul-05 | u shud email them that series was really good - if its RF factory refurb then it shud ok ..... |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 15 Registered: Aug-09 | i emailed them and they said it was brand new in original box, ima order it (t2001bd) IF i change to a 1 15 setup in good box what will be better outa HDC3 ALUM 15, or fully loaded FI BTL 15??? the hdc3 alum will prob be about 4.5 @ 38hz the btl loaded box would prob be 4.5 @ 34hz i know i may lose sq going with the hdc3, but outa those exact setups wat yall think will be louder?? no1 around here has anything other than mainstream, so i wannashow em a LOUD 1 sub setup in my lil malibu i do appretiate the input, thanks |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 16 Registered: Aug-09 | bump for the louder 1 sub setup's that i wrote ^^^^^ |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15375 Registered: Jul-05 | havent heard or used either but if i had o pick id choose Fi over AQ ... |
Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1953 Registered: Aug-07 | Fi, simply because it would still be loud as h3ll on that amp and it would have some sound quality to it. it would be a LOUD daily driver, and a good one! |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 17 Registered: Aug-09 | k that wat i was leanin towards gotta wait till im finished with my job lol |
Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1961 Registered: Aug-07 | IMHO, i would still do the 4 type-rs... more cone area than a single 15. so it should be louder on the same power (install dependent) |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 18 Registered: Aug-09 | well thanks all, abarca since the 4 r's will still prob be louder thats wat ill still get then the only thing is my buddy said he heard 4 r 12's in a caprice trunk, and his audiopipe 15's would kill them. although he does tell lots of stories i found the r 10's for 105 each with shipp lol http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/swr-1022d.aspx |
Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1962 Registered: Aug-07 | when people say "oh i heard 4 blahs in a blah.." its just what they think or could be a lie. with 4 type-rs, the car would need electrical upgrades to give them their full potential power and lots of power. what amp did the guy have? was the box built to alpines specs? what vehicle was it in? its easier to get an suv or hatchback loud than a trunk car. theres wayyy too many variables when comparing systems. especially when it comes from a friend who doesnt know much... |

Usa Post Number: 48 Registered: Jul-09 | http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/swr-1022d.aspx Just to give u a heads up, my friend ordered those from that place and they kept telling him they would be shipped soon. Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 20 Registered: Aug-09 | ^^^^ in that case ive ordered alpine type s 6x9's from onlinecarstereo ill just get em there thanks for warning me |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 25 Registered: Aug-09 | well with the RF T20001BD if i stick with alpine subs, what will be louder both at 32hz daily driver, i may even take the top part of seat of, till i need it again i know i keep saying this vs that but this is FINAL 4 type r 10's @ 32hz, subs up port back 2 type r 15's @ 32hz, subs up port on side in back (because size of trunk) |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15387 Registered: Jul-05 | i have a 2 10s box job to do for a guy & today i tried 1 of those 10" R in a box really made for a 12" R which i had a while now sitting here , i simply make a circle to cover the 12" hole & put in the 10" just to try it out ...sub is brand new , this slot port box is tuned 32hz & the sound was quite amazing ... got loud for just 1 10" i cud see some slight shaking on my steering & sq on it was very good so i expect it to sound really good when i do the correct box for 2 10s so if u do 4 of these in the proper box for subs that cost only about $115 each u will have IMO a excellent SQL set .... |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15388 Registered: Jul-05 | now reading back ur 1st post : i hope u have taken into acct available cuft AFTER subs & ports displacement since 4 10s do take up considerable space ... |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 27 Registered: Aug-09 | yea lol, after port and subs displacement, its very close 5.6 @ 32hz, maybe 32.2 or something BOX width 34" height 15" length 28" PORT width 4" height 13.5" lenght 19" but thats after subtracting .05 x 4 subs = .20 and subtracting 5.5w x 13.5h x 19L |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 28 Registered: Aug-09 | and ported for those say 0.6-1.25 im givin em lil xtra 1.4 each ported that should be good right? |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15394 Registered: Jul-05 | shud be ok i tried these in a 1.75cuft - sub moved only about 1\2-3\4" quite smoothly , not that im saying to follow me exactly u cud probably add some pollyfill in that box if u dont have more space ... |
Silver Member Username: Armykyle1Ms Us Post Number: 712 Registered: Dec-08 | sound sound great and get loud if done right. I've impressed with RFs T line of amps, I didn't like the P series though. My setup is gonna be 3 sound splinter RL-i 10s on a hifonics bxi2008 |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 29 Registered: Aug-09 | Rovin i can go up to 2 inches wider and 2 inches deeper i may re design it if u think 1.75 is really good for those, wont take butta minute lol Kyle those SS RL-i 10's are great subs imo, heard 2 12's, had GREAT sq to me, the output didnt really impress me though... jmo although i know they sound SWEET and i mean SWEET |
Bronze Member Username: MalibusystemPost Number: 30 Registered: Aug-09 | but actually rovin, i usually do a good bit bigger than max rec ported, with my boxes lol like i wouldv'e made those at least 1.75 each, but i was gonna change a lil the boxes that i have done bigger than recommended always turned out really good too |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 152.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15401 Registered: Jul-05 | just make sure that box\boxes can enter the opening of ur trunk when ur done with a bit of over sizing & of course low 30s tuning u get those heavier sounding lows 90% of rec specs from most main stream companies r on the small side since most ppl wud like a small enclosure in their rides & usually suck when compared to a bigger enclosure - what i tell ppl is u r afraid of over sizing go with MAX rec specs rather than optimal whta i tried yesterday was 1.75 in a slot ported box but im going to try a similar size for a guy with 1 4" pvc since he wants trunk space so im doing that than slot port ... |
