Bronze Member Username: Simple_smithLapeer, Michigan United States Post Number: 64 Registered: Dec-08 | Ok my friend is running an Fi BL 15 on stock electrical by means of an audioque 1200d. not really a problem, he's getting some bad voltage drops (from like 14 to 11) and he just got the bright idea to buy another BL 15 and a memphis 1000.1. What is going to break first? He's running 4ga. and i have repeatedly told him he needs a the very least a HO alt and 0ga before he installs the new stuff. he just won't listen. |

Post Number: 15305 Registered: Jul-05 | my guess subs will fry 1st he has gotta be a real dumb@ss for using 2 different amps if it were me 1st thing id get is a ho alt & a good drycell upfront & assuming his 1st sub is a d2 id buy a kicker zx2500 which is 2 ohms stable so that it can play a 2nd sub fine ...... |

Gold Member Username: DuckaHoughton and/or Macomb, MI United States Post Number: 1116 Registered: Jan-08 | I'll bet subs. When he gets those low voltage drops he is probably clipping them to bejesus and back. |
Gold Member Username: TejcurrentPost Number: 1880 Registered: Apr-07 | I guess an amp, I'll bet the Memphis one. |
Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1893 Registered: Aug-07 | tell him that BassBoost needs to be turned on all the way so that he can get to the MAX ratings on the amp... i mean thats just common knowledge |

Gold Member Username: DeadrabitMarionville, MO Post Number: 2091 Registered: Jun-07 | i bet nothing will break and he will run it like that for 2 years and sell it to some one else |

Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 11937 Registered: Jun-04 | Im with Troy I think the memphis amp will fry. |
Bronze Member Username: Splguy1989Post Number: 11 Registered: Aug-09 | Memphis are great amps... i know but why mix? lol, expecially with only 4awg on stock electrical with 2 amps like that |
Bronze Member Username: Splguy1989Post Number: 13 Registered: Aug-09 | the memphis calls for 0/1awg itself lol i say amp first but i doubt the memphis |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 11938 Registered: Jun-04 | Did you ever let the memphis amp run really low on voltage? Thats why I think it will fry. |
Bronze Member Username: Splguy1989Post Number: 14 Registered: Aug-09 | yea in his situation low voltage either of the amps can fry |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 11939 Registered: Jun-04 | More likely the memphis will be first to fry. |
Bronze Member Username: Splguy1989Post Number: 15 Registered: Aug-09 | why not the aq? cause it calls for 4awg? |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 11940 Registered: Jun-04 | Because memphis amps are known to fry on low voltage. I wouldnt put just 4 gauge in the aq and if I had too I would run a short piece of 4 gauge out of a distribution block. The in of the distribution block would allow for larger wire to be used and the 4 gauge out would be very short and all of that would maximize current flow to the amp. |
Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTION, La. Lake Charles... Post Number: 3700 Registered: May-07 | The suburban ran 2-pr1000.1 on stock alt and never had a problem... Of course it has since been upgraded. |
Bronze Member Username: Splguy1989Post Number: 16 Registered: Aug-09 | ohh ok, i was just saying at PROPER voltage and wiring, the memphis's are great and they never get hot, but in this case you maybe right, i never heard that, although i know it can happen but i believe you |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassYork, Pennsylvania Post Number: 11941 Registered: Jun-04 | From what Marks saying I may be wrong but ill stick with my guess being the memphis amp will fry. |
