Right now I own one JL 12w3 in a ported box. Ill be upgrading my system soon to one 12w7, and was wondering if it would sound better in a ported or sealed box for reggae/rap/techno music..? All the boxes ive seen for sale online are sealed for this sub. I know sq is better with sealed, and spl is better with ported. How much louder will a sealed 12w7 be than the ported 12w3 I have? sq is important, but I also just want to make sure Ill be much louder with a sealed w7 than with what I have now.

port the w7, i used to own two and i lost little if any SQ and added alot of spl. this sub comes alive when you port it. Make sure you port it to JL specs
