Found a deal I couldn't pass up... bought a pair of 12" Sonance v2's w/ round wire coils. Amp will be a LA storm x1.1000.1d. Rated 1000w @ 1 ohm and 700w @ 2 ohm (underrated, should do 1100-1200w @ 1 ohm). Going in the hatch of my 93 z28.
Which would you do...
A) 2 subs sealed on around 550-600w each
B) 1 sub ported on 700-800w. Box would be VERY SQ oriented. Probably small and tuned low for a flat response.
The reason I sway away from 2 subs sealed is I don't know if I have enough power for them both sealed. These have round wire coils in them as well.
Are you saying more power? The only other thing I could do is run a separate amp to each sub (I have 2 x1's but they can't be strapped). I don't think my stock charging will handle it. I think the 1 sub ported might be more than enough for this application.
