They could've been bullshitting me. Although it did have ezpass installed and they removed a parking pass to the Wachovia center off the windshield. Whatever. Gets me from point a to point b right? |

Found it right before I was going to put a down payment and get a crew cab long bed super duty. Its like brand new inside with fresh paint. Its getting 15% tint this week and im looking to put on some 16" factory alcoa rims. By the way 22MPG |
Gold Member Username: JtownTexas Post Number: 3803 Registered: Mar-07 | Nice, I've been looking for one of those but can't seem to find a decent one. Only decent ones i can find are the 6.9L and they are even hard to find. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderPalm Beach, Florida Post Number: 6521 Registered: Jan-06 | The 6.9 is actually a good motor. A 7.3 is just a bored out 6.9 block, and a few different add ons like the glow plug controller, fuel filter set up and stuff that you can swap to the 7.3 model when it goes out. Also 7.3 has bigger head studs and rocker arms. They make turbo kits and you can turn up the injection pump to make some power. |
Diamond Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 20693 Registered: Jun-06 | That looks like a helluva great work truck Mat. I miss my dual tanks on my old truck. I'll take heat for this but Ford FTW. I'm on my third one and loved every one of them. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderPalm Beach, Florida Post Number: 6522 Registered: Jan-06 | yeah thats what I use it for paul, work, and towing my other truck to go hunting and mudding. It doesnt win any races but it will get you there on time and I can pull a house behind me if I wanted to. Big grades would be a problem though without a turbo. I know alot of people with ford trucks old a new, with basically no problems other then basic maintenance and stuff. Not saying there is anything wrong with other truck hell I like chevy and dodges too, I just dont think Id own any truck other then another ford. |
Diamond Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 20694 Registered: Jun-06 | "Not saying there is anything wrong with other truck hell I like chevy and dodges too, I just dont think Id own any truck other then another ford." My thoughts exactly. I don't abuse my vehicles though like many do. There's alot of ppl out there that think to themselves that they should be able to treat their truck like a pair of work boots. Use and abuse them every day, neglect them and expect them to perform like their first day. It just doesn't work like that with automobiles lol. |
Gold Member Username: Yukhui4 15 AA Havocs, Memphis 4kw!! Post Number: 1004 Registered: Jan-06 | Very very true analogy, Paul. I see so many people around here that ruin their vehicle and then get mad at what they now call the "piece of sh1t" they bought. And what most never realize is that the main problem was them. I've come to understand that, with cars and trucks, everything that an owner does not know can (and often will) end up with problems and costly repairs. After getting a small glimpse at the time and energy companies spend to test and perfect the durability of EVERY part they put into a vehicle, I strongly agree that the performance and durability of any truck from any company will, for the most part, rely mainly on the owner. To me it seems a lot of the failing car makers would probably be better off if they would put more priority on informing buyers what to do, what not to do, and what certain actions, including neglect, do to their costly investment. And just so I don't seem hypocritical, I fully understand that some of the things I do to my truck such as the larger tires will wear certain parts and add stress all around. And since I'm very tight on care and maintenance, I'm ready to fix what breaks so I can keep the truck how I like it. |

Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1802 Registered: Aug-07 | in reference to how cars/trucks perform and last.. I have found out that regular maintenance (ie. oil changes, tune ups, whatnot) help more in the long run than anything else. Yes, things do happen like pumps going out or fans. however, ive learned that regular maintenance adds a lot of value to any vehicle. my old car (2002, Nissan Xterra) saw over 100k miles with out any engine, transmission, or any costly work done to it. All i did was oil changes, new belts, and some anti-freeze and i was golden. h3ll the last ~3kmiles were all highway and it never overheated. i also have friends who have driven brand new trucks/suvs/cars off the lot and within 40k miles have needed new transmissions, engine rebuilds, A/C problems, the works...they also never changed the oil or did anything to upkeep the vehicle.
