Are they in phase with each other?

if u mean in phase by beat at the same time...then no they are not in phase....lets say there is a big bass part in a song...like a thud...then one sub will move then the other will move...so they are not synced

DMM= digital multimeter.

In this application it is used to measure the impedance at the subwoofer's terminal.

I'd suggest removing the subs from the enclosure. Inspect for wrong wiring, a burnt coil or damaged tinsel leads on either sub.

Sounds like common chamber with one blown sub. Are there two terminal cubs on the back of the box, or one?

pull out one or both subs and see if all wire are still connected and check to see f there is a divider between the subs. let us know the results. or check resistance at each box terminal.
