Peak watts means absolutely nothing, NEVER go by that. RMS watts are what matters. The sub is rated for 500w RMS and its dual 4 ohm coils which wire to 2 ohms. That amp does 500w RMS at 2 ohms. It is ideal to use an amplfier that produces as much power or more than you will need.
I recommend a ported box, they can be made to sound as good as a sealed but louder if done right.... has to be custom made to the subs specs though. NO prefab boxes.
I am no expert on boxes though. Post in the sub section and someone like canaan can help you out with that.
He means every sub has a box spec that is best for that sub. Volume of the box, size of port, length of port. That all makes a difference on how the sub performs at a certain frequency. You need to look on the manufacture's website for these specs, or talk to one of the guys on here that has experience with those subs.
