Gold Member Username: DeadrabitMarionville, MO Post Number: 1470 Registered: Jun-07 | its advantech not regular ply wood. u should not say bad things about something u have not tried before. Kevin , you do not know so for ur information it is stronger and gets louder than mdf and even baltic b. it is kinda heavy, about the same as mdf. but it is also cheaper than baltic. i didnt know anything about it before i talked to jeremiah ledgerwood about what i am doing. so he gave me some tips and using advantech was one. say what u want but i have done me research on this and for spl advantech is the best i have found, Kevin? how many boxes have you built? idk about u but i am always trying to find something new and better so i can get ahead of other competitors. |

I bet 90% of the people on here wouldnt have the guts to do this to their car. props to you for trying, really. the only way to get better is to test and experiment and thats what your doing. Major props to you for trying your best. 160db may be a big stretch, but i guess if you dont dream big, you dont win big. i hope you get what you set out to reach, this looks like a big job in the making and i hope you succeed. again props to you for trying and saying F*CK you to everyone else. if building this and the finished product makes you happy, then i would say that this build will be 100% successful. Good Luck Man! |

Gold Member Username: Van_manBoston South, MA Post Number: 4723 Registered: Mar-06 | My subfloors are made out of it. And there is a guy near my using it. Its a resin infused panel. Unlike particle board which uses glue to bind the wood fibers, Advantex uses a resin, not unlike fiberglass resin, to bond the wood together. Not just a coating, but thru out the board. I have had a piece outside now for 5 years, and it still is perfect. GL on the goal. |

Gold Member Username: Tatonka-[Team Audible Insanity]- Post Number: 2806 Registered: Mar-07 | BLK, it seems that you are playing a guessing game with boxes in your car. Keep in mind that walls are not always your best option. I do not see a 160 with what you are doing. I actually don't even see a 155. Don't want to be a jerk, just real talk. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 4062 Registered: Nov-04 | lol. if you dont need any advice then why did you change the wood you were using? being arrogant does not get you louder. but i already have what you are wanting and i like advice and constructive critisism. go figure. just because your last build was a 150 doesnt mean this one will be. imo i would have stuck with you r unfinish 150s build and tried to get it as loud as possible before i switched stuff up.lots of stuff could have been left on the table you never got to. |

Diamond Member Username: WingmanaliveWww.stainles... .ecrater.com Post Number: 20140 Registered: Jun-06 | Twin tower of fail? Somebody link it. There are more ppl on this forum that are quite capable of giving advice than needing it. Over the years however that is slowly changing. You're spending a lot of time on this project and it appears to be done be the seat of your pants. I posted the pic of the floor construction because reaching 160 is a very difficult thing aided only by proper forethought, planning, execution, many failed attempts and above all adequate funds. I won't mock anyone entering a race but don't expect a project like yours to go without everyone's $.02. After all isn't that why you started this thread? This is a been there done that for many members here and believe it or not the worst criticism anyone can give is to keep their mouth shut when they see a problem, forcing you to be very disappointed. We all learn through failure and whether you see 155 out of your setup or not even 150, you'll pull something from it. Hitting 160 and shutting everyone up, is that your goal? Shut everyone up then. |
