Are caps overrated??

so im at this party and me and this other drunk guy start talkin about car audio and of course the guy "knows everything" and i told him my setup that i have a 2000 chevy silverado with a 250 amp alt and red top optima battery and how i will be upgrading to 0 gauge wiring to run my 2 12"cvx powered by a kx1200.1 and i will be doing the big 3 he keeps talking about hnow i only need 4 gauge with a cap...personally i think caps are garbage but he seemed to think that caps are the best things in car audio...what do yall think i should do?

yes they tend to put more strain on the electrical system then do good

and that guy is an idiot.... you will encounter lots in the car audio world.

Caps are extremely useful in car audio. They already come in your amp, though :-)

Maybe he was talking about endcaps for your amp???

But If you are running that kx1200.1 @ 1 ohm, then 1/0ga wont be necessary between the amp and batt assuming you already have quality 4ga or bigger. Unless you were referring to the Big 3 then yes do 1/0.
