I have a 2009 Ram Crew Cab and i want to install some subs under my rear seat. The same box from the previous quad cabs fit so i can fit 2 10" or 2 12" with about .6 air space each sub and 7" mounting depth. These are calculated from some measurements i have taken. I have been out of the car audio loop for awhile and i was looking for some suggestion on what to do. I want SPL as well as SQ, SPL ranks a little higher for me than SQ as my F350 had 4 12" CVR's 2 Ohm and two ZX850.2's. Open to suggestions as i've never had to deal with such a small space. I just installed a avh-p4000 HU
Some rough choices on boxes -http://caraudiofactory.com/2001-2008-dodge-quad-poly-p-218.html?osCsid=7 2subs,sealed, seperate air space
-http://caraudiofactory.com/20012007-dodge-quad-doul-poly-p-275.html?osCsid=7 2subs,sealed, shared air space
-http://caraudiofactory.com/20012007-dodge-quad-single-poly-p-276.html?osCsid=7 1sub, slot port
-will be installing myself and probably building the box. Have experience in both
I would suggest looking into something around 1krms.
go with a sealed box.
2 12" fi ssd's should work pretty good.im not sure on there mounting depth though. im sure people with more exp with trucks will help you ive never done a truck setup so dont know the best ones
NOTHING will sound great under the seat of that truck with a prefab box it will make noise but not to much pass that.Your best bet is to do some fiber glassing.
do the jl shallow or diamond hex series, im not sure how loud they get but i know they sound good, but i have never heard a "loud" under seat setup. i always here of ppl blowing their subs under seat and behind.
