Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 01:41 GMT Hey all, I had a 4 channel Helix Dark Blue amp that worked just fine the day we un-installed it. My buddy has it hooked up in his Rx-8 and after showing a green light for 1-2 seconds it immediately goes into protect. The took it out and tried it on another source with no RCA's hooked up and it still goes into protect. They opened it up and could see nothing that looked bad on the inside. Any ideas as to what we should look for? Thanks!!

Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 02:07 GMT try hooking it up directly to the battery. Just use the pos, neg, and a little jumper from the remote to the amps pos. If it still goes into protect, then its most likly the amp. Also make sure the power is 12-14 volts.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 05:05 GMT Yeah it's grounded fine as it did the same thing in 2 separate locations. I believe that's what they did for the 2nd try Ninja. I checked it out myself tonight and everything looks fine... Hopefully it's a cheap fix as were looking into that as well.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 07:38 GMT So you connected it to a few different electrical systems, with no speakers connected? If so the amp is most likely toast. It must have been damaged somehow.... did you disconnect the vehicles battery ground when installing or uninstalling it? So many people make the mistake of not.
