What nick said, and what file system is the flash drive formatted as.

My JVC HU will play mp3, wma, and wav formats. And the flash drive must be FAT or FAT32.

Format the flashdrive.
Sometimes you need to get a program from a vender to delete some programs like Skpe for one.
Once it is fully wiped, just drag and drop from your files.

Make sure they are in the format that your hu reads, ie, WMA, MP3, AAC, Flac, lossless, ect.

It's an eclipse. It should play wma's without an issue. Format the drive to fat32 and re-add all of your songs.

Wait a minute here. Did you actually convert the songs off the CD into mp3. Or did you just drag the icons onto the flash drive. If you did that it won't work, it just makes a shortcut to the CD.

Do this

start - run - "cmd" no quotes
dir e:

Replace "E" with whatever letter your flash drive is showing as in my computer. Post the ouptut.

Then

fsutil fsinfo volumeinfo e:\

Again replace with correct drive letter and post output.

i took the songs of the cd to my computer.
then i drug them onto the flash drive. it is not a shortcut to the songs because it will play on other computers just not on my hu.

i see the E but on my computer it says e drive. this is going way over my head.

Or you could just put in those commands and post the output like I told you... then we could figure it out

Ok I'll make it easy - right click the drive in my computer and hit properties. What does it say next to file system.

And don't use wma... maybe whatever program you ripped with used protected format... get a free program online and rip to mp3.

cmd.exe(xp) is a simplified derivative of DOS. Dos navigation and commands are not something that can be explained easily if you have no experience with it. What program are you using to rip from your CD's? WMP(Windows Media Player 11) does a fine job, you just need to go into WMP options and make sure your rips are converting to MP3(my preference) or wma format. Also take note to where WMP will store your ripped and converted files. Then I hope you are fimiliar with Tag editor if you want to have song info displayed when song is played. It is MUCH easier to download the songs you want from P2P utility.

If WMP is ripping files with copy protections then uncheck "copy protect music" box in rip settings in options
