Silver Member Username: WickedbassNashville, Tn Post Number: 382 Registered: Jan-08 | I think he is wanting to know the mechanics of a capacitor. Not what they do but HOW they do what they do. ^^^As to that I couldn't tell you man. |
Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 917 Registered: Aug-07 | yeah i need to know like how it works like i heard 1 farad to 1000 watts 2 farads to 1000 watts and lik a 250 farad cap will supply a 250 amp current draw |

Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 923 Registered: Aug-07 | according to that it said 1 farad is 100 watts, which sorry but cant be right??? anything else??? |
Gold Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 1040 Registered: Oct-04 | The inventor just said its a POS. What else is there? |
Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 924 Registered: Aug-07 | yes the are POS's lol but im not trying to use one daily, thats what the 10 D3100's are for LOL |
Gold Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 1041 Registered: Oct-04 | ![]() That post, and links within, is THE, from the horses mouth, with math to prove, .....definitive answer. Hope you read the wiring instructions for the battery bank better. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9582 Registered: Jul-06 | Well the two primary uses in electronics is to filter current, or store current like a battery (a very small one). Now the big ones that say they're for car audio..... those have pretty much no use. They don't provide any significant amount of boost in power to your amps. And they are not nessecary due to every amplifier's power supply having internal capacitors. The amount of buffer needed for the supply current is already built in. |

Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 928 Registered: Aug-07 | wiring instructions from the battery bank??? lol i dont think you know who i am |
Silver Member Username: ExigeCDT, Audiopulse Dealer Post Number: 733 Registered: Nov-07 | The intended use is a lot more complex than I think anybody here is really gonna be good for (not to insult anyone's knowledge lol). I know I sure as hell don't have the technical knowledge needed to get after what you're looking for. I don't think anyone else here, without having some hardcore experience, is gonna have the answers you're looking for... |

Gold Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 1043 Registered: Oct-04 | Since links in my other post have proven to be a massive fail... A busted link provided within, was the best i had ever seen on the net. This is a link where Richard Clark makes a good explanation where most of us can understand, tho you would have to REALLY REALLY want to know about caps to read it. I did, its interesting. he invented it, he surely would know. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-electronics/1046719-why-you-dont-need-capac itor.html Its as technical as it gets. |
Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, MI USA Post Number: 12377 Registered: Dec-03 | What do you want to know about a capacitor exactly? I'm an electrical engineer. This will help in regards to using one for stiffening the power supply however: http://www.glasswolf.net/papers/capacitors.html |
Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 940 Registered: Aug-07 | do you have aim glasswolf? |
Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 941 Registered: Aug-07 | lol yeah sure he invented it, but in the use that i would be using it will be fine, the question is how big of one do i need, now i know u problem wont understand what im trying to do it so im not gonna try and explain to ya, this is something far beyond your skillz not to be azzhole but its the truth ![]() |
Silver Member Username: Basebalz13Moneta, Va Usa Post Number: 946 Registered: Aug-07 | its either a couple of the 250 farad caps or lookin into the flux capacitors ;) |
Gold Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 1048 Registered: Oct-04 | Interesting that noone knows "who you think you are", but you know all about someone else. Well not interesting, just hypocritical. Anyway. I hope the second post was more informative than the first. |

Yes renegade can sound condescending but the "I dont think you know who i am" comment is just too much. Now the link renegade posted is actually really good. Just make sure you understand each lesson before going to the next. It will take a while to get through but well worth it if you really want to understand capacitors. |
