Mechman quoted $600 for a 250a alt. for a 08 altima coupe. I remember looking around for an alt for my cavalier about a year ago and they weren't near this high. Guess different models are more difficult to make? Anyways, are Mechmans worth it or should i look around for cheaper?
It does seem that alternators for newer vehicles cost more than an older vehicle. A 07 Chrysler 300 300A costs around $600 from what I have seen. And the motor size really didn't matter, the prices weren't very far apart. Now, a 300A for a 99 Yukon/Tahoe & 98 GM/Chevy Truck runs for less than $500.
Only other places i know of is DC Power, Mean Green, and Excessive Amperage. And i have heard a lot of bad things about Mean Green and Excessive Amperage.
Mechman makes good alts, and gives you a dyno sheet to show you what it's really doing. I'm not familiar with your vehicle but many newer vehicles can really get up there in price.
I'd call ohio gen and dc power, but after my experience with Iraggi I would never use him again, or recommend him.

AMEN brotha u finally see the light :D irragi actually owes me 1000 dollars
For any american made vehicles you will not beat DB Electrical for most vlaue for the $..... but for imports there are other good companies like mechman and MCR.
yeah, im sooo glad i got in with team mechman tho, is that what your runnin now?
and btw the court ordered him to pay with in a certain time frame, and if he violates that theres a automatic jail time :D does he know who hes messin with??!?!?!
So M.S. mentioned DB for american cars/trucks. Anyone else know anything about DB? They have a 200+ for my expedition for $200 which is way cheap. I just dont want to waste any money.
Yeah man, I might be making a trip out there anyway though. My irragi is starting to act up on me. If it kicks the bucket im going to be HIGHLY pissed. That thing wasn't cheap by any means.
nope def not, and umm well i had my new alt guy take the irragi apart and exam it, he said the rotor looked to have over 100,000 miles on it lol, used a used regulator, well basically it was a used stock alt with delta connections, it dynoed at lik 203 or sumin rated for 240 and 110 at idle it idles at 54........
Wow, thats just sad. The more and more I think about it im wantin one of those mechmans everyone has been talking about. If my Irragi does crap out I will use my refunded money from him (its still under warranty and he WILL refund my money) to buy a Mechman.
Hope it all works out for you. How much longer does he have to pay up?
