When I called the dealer with the vin, the code he gave did not work...it turns out that the folks we bought it from had switched radios from a different car. The car it was switched from was a Volvo sedan...(1994?) but I do not have that vin. The radio model is 3533535-4969 9442 The serial number is B41053554 Than you very much !!! |

Re the codes.....With ALPINE there can be a number of different options depending on the number of Preset Buttons on the front of your radio. The code given (35524) was for the most common. If you wish to try the others then here they are in order of possible/estimated success potential 34342 31144 55534 15514 75584 65584 After each unsuccessful code , then leave your radio switched on for 10-20 minutes (or longer ) to try and prevent the radio locking up. If any are successful then please let me know which one. As I said in the first reply , the success rate with ALPINE radio code calculation is not very high |

They want you to bring a car in and charge you $75 per code. I work for a used car dealer and they won't even give it out to us over the phone. This is an outrageous money making scheme. All other dealers give it out for free even BMW and VW. AUDI SUCKS! |

Believe me it isn`t ! You require a lot more information than just a couple of MBs of "decode calculator" software downloaded off the Internet...but some of this software is useful and can provide up to date codes (eg the Ford M series calculator). The problem you have encountered with your unit is that the German Audi + VW car companies (and other makes as well ) have made their codes very secure for obvious reasons. For a start their radios etc. are made by several different manufacturers ( hence all the complicated Serial Numbers ) Then the codes can NOT be calculated using any of these Serial Numbers in any Calculator software , but are held on a secure , very large database which is not readily available on the open market.(so no chance of buying or downloading it from anywhere for any price ...unless you are an Audi or VW dealer )This is why you sometimes have to supply the dealer with the radio details AND the vehicle details (VIN etc) AS WELL as the vehicle paperwork. All in the name of security. This means that around 99% of these codes will NOT be available for free from anywhere (and why there are many disappointed Audi + VW owners (and many other makes ) on this forum who have no success in obtaining their code for free)...... the only possibility would be if you could charm your Main Dealer to look at his database and provide a code for free...but perhaps this charm was lacking when you asked for your code from your the Audi Dealer ) Never mind. One lesson learned is that if you buy another Audi ( or VW ) , then make sure you also have a copy of the code. Keep smiling !  |

PHILIPS and GRUNDIG (but not all models ) and there is no success with the DELCO ...let alone these AUDI + VW badged models. The so called torrent downloads are fake ( and usually infected with virus + trojans ) and do not work because a massive database is needed. If YOU reckon you know a source or can obtain a working decoder for these AUDI radios (or VW )then let me know off list via a PM and I`ll be interested in buying it off you for a very good price .....but I am certain this will be mission impossible |

When I bought the car 2nd hand in August it did have a pin code in the Symphony manual. I tried that once then again and then it locked up - 2SAFE! I then spent 3days searching the internet to get some software but it was all for ford or Blaupunkt etc nothing for Audi. I then found one for Audi so I thought great, i'll buy some keys on ebay. did that used them today to get the AUZ serial from my stereo - now i find that the decoder only works for AUZ 1Z4_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ mine serial is AUZ 5Z4C 527 2517. Serial no.15096 Is there anyway you could help me. I would be so great if you could. Please let me know even if you can't. Many thanks, |
