Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 55 Registered: Oct-08 | also would 2 re se be better then a single fi q 15" |

Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 57 Registered: Oct-08 | cool no one asked if you liked it or not... and woudl the hifonics bxi1608D work to power these subs |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 3905 Registered: Nov-05 | yes, as long as the amp has power, ground, rspeaker and rca cables it will work with any pair of subs ever created... stupid fvuck numerous people recommended amplifiers that match nicely yet you totally ignore advice from people who are 70 times more intelligent on the subject. keep asking questions, ill gladly give you my input |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 60 Registered: Oct-08 | ok yes i kno that any amp will power but does this one give out good power to pu tof the rms |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 3907 Registered: Nov-05 | not sure i understand your question... are you asking me to add two numbers for you? well, its late but ill give it a try. 600 + 600 = 1200 the hifonics produces 1600 according to the manufacturer. so yes, this one gives out good power to pu tof the rms |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 61 Registered: Oct-08 | ok now where can i get a custom box made for theses in case my box i have now doesnt work as well |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9318 Registered: Jul-06 | Hifonics amps are very overrated..... the bxi1600 actually does ~1200w rms. The Audioque 1200d is $250 and KILLS the hifonics in quality. So does the RD 1000.1 |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 3911 Registered: Nov-05 | the bxi1600 actually does ~1200w rms. very false statement. you of all people should know better. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6046 Registered: Nov-05 | AQ sold out lol buy the damn SEs and AQ 1200d and stop asking questions. far as a box, have someone on here build one or go to an audio shop local to you and tell them you need 4cubic foot after displacement tuned to 34hz with 64 square inches of port. Or.. just buy a damn sealed prefab lol |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9320 Registered: Jul-06 | " very false statement. you of all people should know better. " LOL Wow I thought you were smarter than that. It is a very true statement. Hifonics amps are overrated by 20-25%, which has been proven time and time again on bench tests. They are also not real good quality. |

Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 63 Registered: Oct-08 | oh and for the AQ1200D should i get the D2, or D4 RE SE Subs |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 64 Registered: Oct-08 | ok guys i found a box for the subs http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7516_Sonic+Sub+Box-+2SBV12.html also this is what im gettin the AQ 1200D and the 2 Re Se 12's... but when i get the subs should i get the dual 2 ohm, or the dual 4 ohm subs? |
Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTIONLake Charles... Post Number: 2060 Registered: May-07 | do not get a prefab box for re subs.. you need an enclosure that is made to specs for those subs.. As for voice coils, you will need D4 's and you will need to wire then in parallel to achieve a 1 ohm load. I just noticed that you are 16 years old.. Makes sense. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6052 Registered: Nov-05 | only prefab i'd buy is something along the lines of a hooker box.. and only sealed |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 3912 Registered: Nov-05 | show me the results ms.... show me where a bxi1608 puts out 1200 watts at 14.4 volts at a true 1 ohm. i agree they are not great quality tyler, you need dual 4 ohm. nice system. remember to use 0g wiring for the power and ground. also, google "installing big 3" and do that as well. |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 69 Registered: Oct-08 | ok does anyone kno where i can bet a box build to specs |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 70 Registered: Oct-08 | also is there any types of veicle you can get away with by not doing the big 3 like a truck or suv? |

Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 3913 Registered: Nov-05 | big 3 and box building are simple. the box you would build is simple atleast |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 9325 Registered: Jul-06 | " show me where a bxi1608 puts out 1200 watts at 14.4 volts at a true 1 ohm. " That would require me to dig out my old issues of CA&E and scan one in...... which im not motivated to do lol. And yeah don't buy a prefab ported box, ever. Sealed prefabs are ok if they are 3/4 mdf. Ported boxes need to be custom built for the sub. |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 3915 Registered: Nov-05 | surely you know of another source... it was tested time and time again after all |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 71 Registered: Oct-08 | so what would happen if i dont do the big 3? |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 72 Registered: Oct-08 | also i dont know how to make a box and how would a sealed box sound? and would work well with the re's |
Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTIONLake Charles... Post Number: 2092 Registered: May-07 | if you dont do the big three, you MUST reverse mount your subs, and they can only be wired in series/parallel. If this isn't done than your lugnuts are likely to come off while driving. |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 73 Registered: Oct-08 | ok then what is the big 3 in simple words |
Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTIONLake Charles... Post Number: 2093 Registered: May-07 | Definition: the "Big Three" upgrade means improving the current capacity of three cables: 1) alternator positive to battery positive, 2) battery negative to chassis, and 3) engine ground to chassis. ADDE new cables to exsisting factory wiring. the big silver 0/1 ga. wires you see around battery is a big 3 upgrade |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 74 Registered: Oct-08 | o ok is it easy to do... i mean like is it simple that anyone can do it? |

Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTIONLake Charles... Post Number: 2094 Registered: May-07 | anyone can do it so far as they are smart enough not to hook cables to wrong spots.. make sure no grounds touch any hots. you will need about 10' or so of 0 ga. power cable. 6- 0/1 copper cable lugs. tip 1)make sure you remove paint and connect your chassis ground to pure metal(no paint) tip 2) for the lug that will hook to your alt, make sure the hole diameter on lug is as close to same size as alt. stud. The more contact, the better tip 3)disconnect battery completely while doing upgrade. To be safe and sense this is new to you. took me about 20-30 mins do do with proper tools and parts. btw lug=0/1 ga. ring terminals |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 75 Registered: Oct-08 | ok i get it now but.. i dont get why you said my lug nuts will fall off if i dont do this |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 76 Registered: Oct-08 | also i herd this before so plz dont think im dumb if it wrong... but i herd that most trucks dont need to have the big 3 upgrade... i was jw cuz i wave a chevy silverado and i just put my sub box on back seat... and im curious if i can get away with not doing the big 3 cuz im only gonna run 1200rms |
Gold Member Username: Hittin1TEAM REVOLUTIONLake Charles... Post Number: 2097 Registered: May-07 | What does it matter to your charging system where you put your sub box? As for the lugnuts post... I was messin with ya... Everything in that particular post was not true. When you ask advice from experienced peeps and try to shortcut the advice we give ya, it tends to wear on peoples nerves..Hence the smart -azz answer. We have a silverado running 1000 wrms w/ two batts and still has significant voltage drop(he will be doing "big 3" next week).. You dont have to have it, but it will help and was advised by most on here. Do what you will, but we are not gonna tell ya to do something that is out of the norm. What Battery are you using or planning on using? Why is box just gonna be set on top of back seats? What year Silverado do you have? Do you have to keep rear seats or can you remove them? |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 77 Registered: Oct-08 | i ahve to keep rears seats that why i put the box on them. its year 1998 im using stock for now ill prolly upgrade soon tho |
Bronze Member Username: TylerslivaSt.Ignace, Mi U.S. Post Number: 79 Registered: Oct-08 | ive also herd that a capassitor will help so your voltages dont drop |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6069 Registered: Nov-05 | just do as people suggested, get a good battery and do the big 3. |

Bronze Member Username: M0nstarToledo, OH U.S. Post Number: 16 Registered: Dec-08 | ok, so after reading this whole forum, i laiughed. not AT anyone, just at everything said. probably your most difficult task at hand is gonna be installing a new alternator. a High Output (HO) alt. is probably your best bet, and those arent gonna be a measly 60 bucks at auto zone. i'm not sure if you specified if you wanted a sealed or ported sub box? not sure if you know or not, but a sealed box is better for Sound Quality (SQ) and ported boxes are better for Sound Pressure Levels (loudnes/ SPL). although if you build a ported box right it can sound very good. if you pay someone to build your box, chances are you'll get ripped, unless its someone on here, then you could probably get a deal. best way to get into this kinda stuff is by practice though. next: amps. i think you said you're getting a set of SE's? i saw someone reccommend the AQ1200.1 and the RD1000.1 I'm getting an RD 1000.1 soon, and from what i hear they're great amps for the $$, but a lot of people were telling me AQ is a great amp too. a capacitor WILL help, just DON'T GET A CHEAP ONE! I did and its pretty much a waste of space in my trunk. battery and wires are always just a fun little time consuming activity that you should do on a nice day. and if you don't know about much under the hood, bust out the manual. peacee =V |
