Placement of fuse?

Ok, so i finally got my system ready for install, i was just wondering if i could have the power fuse in the trunk far from the bat or if that is bad?

you want it as close to the batt as posible.

Yeah. Get that fuse as close to the batt as possible. That fuse will help keep the power wire from catching fire/melting if there is a problem.

yeah i was always told no more than 8" from the batt, that link was pretty cool

No, Brad, you forgot to inverse the stigma of the general platitude. This changes the factor of fusemental to a whopping 2.12946 feet. Any more or less, and your car will not only not start, but instantly blow up.

Don't be a victim. Place the fuse wisely..

I was under the impression you had to have a fuse EVERY "2.12946 feet" Nick...

Putting the fuse far away from the battery defeats the purpose of the fuse, creating a fire risk.... put it as close to the battery as possible.

oh ok thanks guys! i was under the impression that the fuse was there painly to protect the amp from popping its fuses not melting the wire... but i should have my system all ready tomorrow i'll post pics of it tomorrow...


one more thing is 40Hz to high for a DD?

Oh lol I thought you meant Digital Designs my bad. I would tune lower for that IDmax,around 32-34hz should be good.
