It's going to take some serious work though to get the kind of #'s you mentioned. As 170dB is kind of high. I would recommend at least 4 of these: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=7224 Be careful though, these babies pound! My buddy has 2 in a small sealed enclosure, powered off of a DHD NTX-2002 and holy sh*t! Good Luck. |

Bronze Member Username: Boston_splHighland, CA United States Post Number: 52 Registered: Nov-08 | If that doesn't work for ya', there's a lot of other great equipment out there too, i.e., Volfenhag, Nitro, Kole, Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, Performance Teknique, Bazooka, Rampage, Dual, Boss, Jensen, & if you're really strapped 4 cash you can get by with McIntosh (just stay away from their amps). Same with Zapco. Hope this helps. Remember I would use at least 4 decent 10's in your trunk if you want to get even close to 170dB. |

Bronze Member Username: Armykyle1Ms Us Post Number: 15 Registered: Dec-08 | i'd say to get to 170 db you'll need a set of DUB audio 12's, 500w rms each. they're like upgraded audiobahn totaally pound, i had one in my trunk and blew the weather stripping out of my trunk, and sony makes the perfect amp for them it puts out like 1800w! here's the closest thing i could find this is the all in package this will prolly get you to 160 db though http://cgi.ebay.com/DUB-MAG-AUDIO-DUB10BB-AUDIOBAHN-DUAL-10-SUB-ENCLOSURE_W0QQit emZ310108621684QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Subwoofers_Enclosures?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1 116 |

Bronze Member Username: Boston_splHighland, CA United States Post Number: 60 Registered: Nov-08 | The only reason that DUB setup would hit 170dB is because of the "Over-sized 30 oz. Double-Stacked Magnet" (I sh*t u not, it says that) on those puppies. But I don't know about Xplod's, I'd rather go with this bad boy: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6532 though I'd recommend some serious hearing protection man. |
