I've been talking about it forever, so finnally, here is the build log :-)

Compressors: 2x Viair 380c
Tank: chrome 5 gallon
Struts: EasyStreet front and rear air struts for the Alero
Control system: ART Ridepro digital controller along with the remote system :D
Valves: ART Big Red 4-way

All of this took days of designing because I do not have much room to work with (you will see in the pics)

Day 1:

The valve block and sending units
Upload

These are going in the spare tire well. More pics of this will come.
Upload

My main problem was fitting my amps in with all of this. So I first built my amp rack, then I build my compressor/tank rack to slip over it.
Upload

Here is the rack in the car:
Upload

And This is kind of what it is going to look like finished.
Upload

I hope to have my box and the racks painted or at least in primer Tuesday. I'm thinking of doing the box blue, and the rack black. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, feel free to say them :-)

could do the top of the amp rack/bottom of the compressor rack in plexi, and have the amp sitting on a glossy white. blue leds underneath a chrome tank would look good me thinks.

I thought of that Thieves lol. The plexie for it would just be too expensive, and I'm likely to change my box soon, so this is just kind of temporary.

i'm sure you've thought about this, but ventilation for the amps?

the compressor and stuff would look sweet on top of a black box. the chrome would stand out like crazy.

I have thought about it. The amps have an inch below and above them. They have never got hot on me before, so I think there is nothing to worry about.

maybe do a plexi window with rd etched into it? I know someone that would do it for the cost of materials.

probably just right above the amp it self. or maybe two small windows, one on either end just showing portions of the amp.

There really is no place to put it lol...The compressors and tank would just end up on top of it

yeah but it could be like a lil peak at the amp you know, you know? which is why I suggested small windows on either end of the amp so that you barely see the amp. I think the amp sitting on a glossy white, and some leds to light up the rack will add to it.

yeah the compressors and tank would be on top, but that would make it look a bit more stealth, and light up the trunk just a little. just a thought, completey hidden is cool too.

Thanks Thieves.
I'll be thinking today about how I can add it in there . I also have plans on lighting up the trunk a little bit ;)

Lots more to come. I'm off work tomorrow and I want to have the racks and box in primer.

I was thinking about it today, you could do a long strip of plexi, like 2.5"-3" thick, and 4" shorter than the length of the rack, so there would be 2" of mdf space between the end of the plexi and the end of the rack on either side. put that strip along the bottom of the amp so that you can read the logo on the heat sink. maybe set the compressors and tank back so that they are not sitting on the plexi. that could look good. I'm just spitting out ideas here.

Hey guys, just got in from working on it lol.

Well, today I went ahead and got all of the wiring out of the way. I also temporarily mounted the tank and compressors to their rack.

Drilled the holes for the compressors and tank.
Upload

Put my spades on my connections. More pics of this will come.
Upload

Here is the wiring. When I'm done, all the distro blocks and the relays will be neatly tucked in the area they are hanging out of.
Upload

Here is what it is going to look like for another day or so. I'm going to loom up the wires and paint everything.

Thanks guys :-)

Today I had to work, so I did not get much done. I did finish up the rest of the wiring, and also got my compressors on a switch :-)

Tomorrow I'm going to try to sand/paint everything. I doubt I'll get it all done, but it is worth a try lol.

I want these working by Saturday afternoon.

Got another few little things done tonight.
I decided to paint tomorrow, and then get it all in saturday I hope.

Got my amps power and speaker wire all set up in correct lengths.
Upload
Upload

The red block is my valves. The point of the valves is to supply/dump air in/out of my bags. It is basically a set of coils that respond to my control system. The four gray things are my sending units. They tell my control system the PSI of each of my bags.
Upload

That's really all that was pic-worthy tonight. More tomorrow ftw

How does it scream rice? A ricer is a car that has distasteful cheap mods on it. And I don't think any of my mods are distasteful.

The neon and body kit for the most part.... although I'm not a big fan of that 2 tone paint either. But I absolutely can't stand neon. lol

But if you like it thats all that matters.... obviously you've done some good work there.

Well, there isn't a neon on my car lol. It's all LEDs.

But that still isn't "rice". I would call it more of a tuner look, and some people don't like it. Everyone is different I guess :-)

But thanks for the comment. The final result is what makes all the time and work worth it

neon, LED, same difference

pimped tuner = rice to me

But I just hate the whole tuner trend in general.

Lots of difference...

Rice is commonly used in the wrong way. As I said above, the definition of a ricer is a car that has distasteful cheap mods on it, in which my car does not have.
