Sunday, November 23, 2008 - 04:16 GMT Hey guys! I have about 300 dollars to spend on a sub. Looking for mostly SQ but want it to bang once in awhile. Probably run around 800 watts-1000 watts on a stock 120 amp alternator. I've been looking at the Fi Q and also the new SI Mag (2008). Just wondering if any of you had any opinions on these or any others that would be a better option. Thanks in advance.

Sunday, November 23, 2008 - 16:50 GMT I own a Mag V3 (last model) and it is a great sub. The newer Mag (what you are referring to the 2008 model or the V4) is "supposed" to be a better sounding sub than the V3 and still get almost as loud as the V3. The V4 also is more efficient and requires less power to get going so to say and doesn't need or want much more than 1krms unlike the V3 which can take a clean 1800rms all day and love it. The V4 does feature the xbl^2 technology so I would imagine it would have impressive low end. I don't think anyone on here has heard the V4 (maybe Denim but I don't think he has) so getting hard facts on them would be hard. If you are looking for more info on the V4, I'd go check out the SI forum on their homepage or Caraudio.com because I believe someone on there just bought one. I can't comment on the performance of the V4 as I have not heard it.

Monday, November 24, 2008 - 01:15 GMT Wow thanks guys! I had considered the IDQ as well, but i heard that though it shines in its SQ side, the SPL is lacking. and i want to be able to turn it up every now and then. anyone have any thoughts on the Fi Q vs IDQ vs the SI MaG? thanks.

Monday, November 24, 2008 - 03:38 GMT You can't go wrong with any of those 3... .. Honestly, I would go with the MAG. Never heard the V.4 but if it anywhere near as clean sounding as the v.3 then this would be an easy choice. Even over the beloved Q! lol But I would go with whatever you could find the best deal on..

Monday, November 24, 2008 - 21:02 GMT So it's between the si mag combo with the sundown 1000 or the fi q with the bp power and most likely the same amp. Thoughts anyone?

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 - 00:55 GMT well i don't really want it just to get louder. i mean i know both will get plenty loud for my likings. i'm just focused on the quality of sound, plus, they will have the same amp powering them. still a q? or the mag?

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 - 03:48 GMT I say it because I've owned both. Not the new Mag but still. Price goes to FI, performance goes to SI to me. Just my $.02.
