I checked my owners manual and found my security card that listed my radio data. It clearly listed the Model, serial number and "safety number" on it. I felt confident I could do the repair and put in the unlock afterward and be back in business...wrong. I put the code in 3 times and got CODE WAIT on the LCD. I turned off the ignition then turned it back on and left it for an hour and a half. I now have CODE_ _ _ _ _ back on the LCD. I pushed the "M" button and scrolled through the settings using the "+" button and got a completely different Serial Number than what was listed on my owner manual security card. I need some help to unlock the system. When I called the dealer with the vin, the code he gave did not work...it turns out that the folks we bought it from had switched radios from a different car. The car it was switched from was a Volvo sedan...(1994?) but I do not have that vin. The radio model is 3533535-4969 9442 The serial number is B41053554 I don`t recognise any of your numbers. Volvo radios can be a variety of different makes so if you remove it from the dashboard and can quote the radio MAKE , MODEL and ALL the LETTER + NUMBERS on any labels , barcodes or stamped in the metal casing then I might be able to help.

I believe that your radio can be set to different areas of the world ( eg USA and EUROPE) and the tuning range will be different for each set area. Also the Security Code is different and it is 5 digits for USA and 4 digits for Europe. I believe that one of the tricks to try if you do NOT have the 5 digit code , but have the 4 digit code is 1...Set your radio to EUROPE 2...Enter 4 digit code 3..Reset your area to USA. I just listened to Missisippi Queen by Mountain on CD..way to loud in the parking lot of my plant ha ha.
