Gold Member Username: Snarl2004Digital Design 9515, Massive Audi... Post Number: 2476 Registered: Dec-06 | I dont really like mine. they shift high when you drive them. like i drive my parents silverado 1500 and its great, the way i drive it usually shifts at like 2500-3000rpm's. but for my s10 it shifts at like 3500+ rpm's and it seems like it shifts late. the transmission also worries me (hasnt dont anything yet i just dont fully trust it) also on turns it feels like the s10 wants to fall off the tires. If you look at the tires it looks like it rides on the outside of the tire. Really dont like how they handle.on the other hand the suspension is really nice, they are super smooth going over bumps. i wouldnt reccomend buying one, im trading mine in next spring for a silverado 1500 ive driven a older chevy blazer, its got the same motor as the s10 and does exactly same things my truck does. also dont know if its my s10 or all s10's but i only get 11city/14highway on a 4.3L V6 where my parents silverado gets 14city/17higway with a 5.4L V8 |

Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 1572 Registered: Oct-07 | yeah thanks a lot snarl. this car sucks. lol. just seeing if other people on this forum are havin the same problems i seem to see elsewhere. |
Gold Member Username: Snarl2004Digital Design 9515, Massive Audi... Post Number: 2478 Registered: Dec-06 | ya i think the s10's got lots of problems. plus mines got electrical issues but thats partly my fault. on a side not the service engine soon light has been on, on this truck at least once a year every year since 2002 (when it was bought) |
Silver Member Username: Texas_bassHouston, TX Post Number: 661 Registered: Nov-05 | man i got a 2003 sonoma and ive had no problems what so ever and i already have about 160000 miles on it the bigest problem i have had is fixing the bumper cause i wrecked it but that only took me like 3 hours to fix it besides that its great and i had 1 12" in it and it would hit hard |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Philadelphia, PA Post Number: 8839 Registered: Jul-06 | " I heard pretty much all of them run like sh*t. " You heard very wrong " mechanically run like crap cause chevy equals FAIL " You are a huge failure Apparently nobody in this thread knows anything so quit talkin and listen. The 2.2 motor is a pile of sh!t..... if someone with that hates their S10 becuse of it, well thats competely understandable. That motor is one of chevys biggest fails ever. The 4.3 is one of the best engines ever built. Quality up there with the 350, as it basically is one with 2 cylinders cut off. Will run to 250k+ miles if taken care of. As far as structure quality.... the first gens 94 and older were built like tanks. The newer ones not so much. I still have my 94 S10 Blazer, 184k miles. One of the best reliable vehicles I have owned/driven. And my family has 3 S-10 series. By now I know those vehicles inside out. Handling and fuel economy are valid complanits.... those are the weakness of all S series. |

Silver Member Username: Gavbo211Olney, IL US Post Number: 970 Registered: Jan-05 | my dad has a 93 S10, and its been a great little truck. it has the 4.3L, and it runs like a champ. also has the manual transmission, which has never given us any trouble. as it sits now it has 119,000 miles on it, and the only thing we've ever done to it is routine maintenance. and MS is right, the thing is built like a tank. it's the truck i learned to drive in and learned to drive a manual with, and was my first car for about a year so i can tell you right now its been through hell and it always came back for more. it was in a few accidents and even ramped through the air, and it just keeps on goin. don't think i could kill that thing if i tried. the engine is sturdy too, runs strong and actually tows/hauls more than i would have expected it to for a smaller truck. The 4.3L is a great engine, and its even a really fun truck to drive paired with the manual. |

Towed other Blazers on trailers a few times...... And damn you I wish I had the manual trans..... the 4.3L/5 spd/4X4 combination is near impossible to find. |

Gold Member Username: JtownTexas Post Number: 3304 Registered: Mar-07 | wow, you only get 11mpg city? you need to go get that thing looked at. seriously. my 4dr blazer gets better mpg than that. I have an 01 blazer, 4dr, 4.3l, I wouldn't say I love it, as I've had to do a ton of maintenance on it, but I believe it's because I took it up to colorado for a year and sht just started going down hill. ever since I brought it back to texas I haven't really had any problems with it. they don't run like sht, but the blazers are really top heavy. I'll be doing my 100k mile tune up early, as I'm tired of having little problems everywhere. should get 22-25 mpg highway after I replace a bunch of stuff. oh, and "arrow ports" FTMFL GTFO idiot. |
