Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 05:57 GMT bought a "blown dls a6" ... messed with it and found out it was the RCAs that are messed up.. if you wire a direct connection to the RCA input the amp works but when an RCA is connected it don't

Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 06:41 GMT Not sure what you mean by "direct connection to the RCA input", but set a DMM to continuity and put one end on the outside of the RCA jack and the other end on a grounding point inside the chassis. Then put one tip of the DMM cable inside the RCA and the other on the copper solid core wire that connects to the circuit board and see if the circuit is still complete. What probably happened is one or more of the solder joints came loose or broke off the circuit board because the amp was close (or attached) to a sub box. If both pos and neg check out this far, try to find the traces in the circuit board (will have to remove it) from where the positive wires solder to the board and check them for continuity as far as you can.

Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 07:45 GMT didn't really do anything.. i bought the amp and was told it was blown for cheap... well i tested it like i said.. used my home RCAs and it didn't work but it hummed.. so i tried using direct wire to the RCAs on the amp.. it worked then i was thinking.. grabbed my hooker RCAs which have a slightly smaller prong and plugged it in.. worked fine.. idk what the deal was haha so i got a working amp for the cheap BTW, these DLS amps have an insane build.. very sexy inside

Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 08:00 GMT No doubt, I own a DLS A3, A5, and A6 with another A3 on the way.. I need to part with the A5/A3 and buy an A4 though Never took one apart until now.. by far the best looking amp I've owned. I still can't get over the quality ... Now I understand the cost
