Secret Santa This Year.....Early Huh lol

I've talked with a few people and we have decided that we should "up the ante" to a $50 minimum with no max as opposed to last years $25 minimum. Some people got hooked up last year with some sweet gear and others didn't quite get what they were looking for, but thats just part of Secret Santa. Last year, I made the mistake of letting in a couple less known people in it and it bit me in the azz later. So this year only real regulars are allowed in. I'll make the calls in this and I won't hesitate to say no to someone. We had a good turn out of nearly 20 people last year so lets see if we can get some stuff moving. Maybe even see if some of the dealers/companies on here wanna join. If you are interested do the following, email me at y2kmonkey33@aol.com and put your name on here and put Secret Santa in the subject line as it will make it easier on me. I don't have all the rules set out yet but just want to get a relative idea of who is interested. And yes, I am aware it is only mid Oct but I just wanted to get a head start on it this year to make things easier. |

Troy, it can be anything you choose man. We want it to be something, for lack of a better word, tangible. We don't want people joining and then just sending off $50 cash to someone or just buying someone a gift card (altho I did that last year lol). If you have an extra amp laying around or extra speakers or something you don't need, that would be a perfect gift. If you are going to send something like an amp, speaker, or something, then go ahead and specify it in the mail you send me so I can try and have that sent off to someone who will use it.... and that goes for everyone. But it can be DVDs, wiring, golf balls if they play, a video game only if you KNOW they have that system and don't have the game lol. Of course there are thousands of other options. |

Times are tough all over this year. The market is down. Waaaay down. Ppl have lost thousands, including yours truly. I personally lost 30% of my 401K in only a month! Unemployment is rising and we have the strangest presidential election coming up in history. EVERYONE is feeling the pinch. It sucks! But you know what? We'll all be here regardless afterwards. Sometimes when hell smiles at you all you can do is smile back. Last year I gave away two turkeys on Thanksgiving, the year before that, one. This year will be three. How I'll pay for them has yet to be determined. Doesn't matter. I'm keeping my promise to myself to increase that number every year by one. 10 years from now I will give away 13. You don't know the feeling it brings when you hand it over to a family who has NOTHING! I've been invited to their dinners of course but had plans of my own but would love to if I could. When times are tough, and they are, these next next few months always seem to level things out in ppl. Especially this year. Just for whatever its' worth, I do believe that whatever you give in charity shines back on you eventually 10 fold. Rather than give the $ to an organization I choose to hand deliver the message without the administrative costs!!! I hate to see anyone get the shaft with the secret santa and nobody can predict everything or everyone which is why I applaud Yank's efforts in keeping it as legit as possible. You da man Yanks!  |
