Salsa.? So far, it's at 88hz, but for ROCK, say DEF LEPPARD, what one would play the louder bass / drum and guitar. For example: listen to this song: Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me ---------------------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMwys5wW1yY&feature=related |

I have a feeling he is talking about an LPF rather than box tuning but who knows? There is alot of energy in most rock stuff up that high, but the problem is that you also start to get some vocal bleed above 90, which he is getting plenty of depending on the slope. |

You're more than likely right, he probably set his LPF improperly. I don't think he even knows how to tune an enclosure because if he did he wouldn't be asking this question. |

Gold Member Username: Killerzracing71Post Number: 2303 Registered: Aug-05 | You must not have seen the lol part Put it this way if it aint below 45 hz not bass to me, I love low notes I wish I could have a system that could perform well at 25hz |

TeamSubsGoPoof was hitting 160s with his setup tuned at 30hz. That guy was a piece of sh1t scammer too =/ |

Silver Member Username: PanamanianPanama cityPanama Post Number: 236 Registered: Aug-05 | When you are in a rock band you hear the DRUM and the BASS, very, very deep. what frequency will push it deep enough? 56hz? 73hz? 80hz? 100hz? any other? remember, it's a BANDPASS (so please dont tell me to get another enclosure, and stuff like that). |
Silver Member Username: DuckaHoughton and/or Macomb, MI United States Post Number: 554 Registered: Jan-08 | I don't really understand what your asking. Are you talking about tuning the box that you have? Im pretty sure you cant adjust the tuning with the box that you have. Or Are you wondering what frequencies rock drums and bass play at? I dont have an answer for that one, but im pretty sure the answer to your question is quite a bit lower frequency than 56hz. |
Gold Member Username: The_image_dynamicSan Diego, California Post Number: 4588 Registered: Dec-06 | Dude... you still haven't told us what you are talking about. Are you asking what to set your LPF (the crossover on your amp) at? , your head unit crossovers?, or are you saying that this JBL box is tuned at 80hz? Because it's not. It will do -3dB @ 30hz. And I am in a rock band and yes it is very loud up there by the nature of it all. "Unlike so many one-note-wonder enclosed subwoofers, GTO enclosures feature wide bandwidth design, which provides more output between 20Hz and 40Hz..." |
Silver Member Username: PanamanianPanama cityPanama Post Number: 237 Registered: Aug-05 | maybe i'll be clear enough with this... I was in a rock concern last saturday, and it played very deep and clear bass, and drums. With the subwoofer I already have, what frequency cut should i set my AMP to power my subwoofer? (only the AMP, not the headunit). Also, should the headunit be set at the same as my amp? (for the subwoofer). gracias |
Gold Member Username: Livin_loudPost Number: 2660 Registered: Jan-06 | if your amp crossover/lpf is set at the desired frequency on the amp, there is no need to adjust anything on your head unit. you should probably set your subsonic/lpf to around 30hz with that enclosure. crossover/hpf to around 100hz |
