I have one DVC 4 ohm sub running in parallel and one SVC 4 ohm sub that are running off of a 4 channel amp. I have both of them bridged so the DVC is a 2ohm load and the SVC is a 4 ohm load. I have the kicker KX800.4 amp and when I turn up the volume my amp cuts out and won't turn back on until i turn the volume down lower. How do I get this to stop?
I don't think that amp is stable at less than 4 ohms bridged. When bridged it's rated at 400x2 @ 4 ohm mono. Each resulting channel (there are now two) should be a 4 ohm (or greater) load.
The SVC sub at 4 ohms is fine
The DVC on the other hand is 2 ohm, you're trying to bridge the amp at two ohms, something it's not rated for.
Try wiring the voice coils on the DVC in series. That'll probably make the problem go away.
