Thats wayy wayy wayy too much port area for 2 type X 12s. They are pretty much straight sq subs and would sound extremely sloppy with that much port area. When i had my X's i had them in a split chamber box at 1.75cuft on each side tuned to 33hz with ~22sqin of port on each side. |

Gold Member Username: MendonmafiaUSA Post Number: 1473 Registered: Aug-06 | ok so this weekend i built a new box for my sx's and they are so much louder now. 2 cubes at 34 hz with 62 inches or port subs up port back and centered. my old box was 5 cubes at 32 hz 58 sqin of port subs and port back, port on the driver side i think it must be the alignment of the subs because shouldn't a larger box be louder? o and keep in mind this new box is louder in the trunk with the sets folded up than the old box was with the subs facing in sealed off and seats folded down. |
