For as long as I have been building boxes, I have been using an my skilsaw to cut MDF sheets into smaller workable pieces for my table saw. I used the old standby 1" angle iron and clamps as a fence for my saw.

Well, something just clicked in my head and I found a figured out another way to build a jig. It is SOOOO simply too. I feel like a moron for using the angle iron all this time :-(

Basically, I did this:
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=howTo&p=Build/RipCirc.html
I build it a little different, but does the same thing.

Been using angle iron as a fence forever, this is a little quicker though. Usually cut it down to more workable pieces then hit the table saw.

Simple as hell and what is REALLY sad though...I have used this before, just forgot about it over time :-(

But yea, I have built and used jigs like this for a router. It just didn't click in my head for the skilsaw...lol.

Alot better than just using the 1" angle iron.

Each saw is different though. Different saw different jig. Even with the angle iron.

I'm telling you the BEST piece of equipment to own for any box builder is a panel saw. They are incredible!!! I loved using them. Well worth the investment!

I just go straigt to the table saw, use a skill saw by hand to rough em by eye, then use a 1/2" ply table saw extension to make the final cuts.

if I want say a 32" piece, I rough it at 33". Set the fence to 32.5" make a pass, set the fence to 32" flip the piece so the straight cut piece is on the fence, run it thru and its a perfectly sguare 32" cut.

Not setting up skilsaw jigs. to time consuming.
Just make sure the ply doesnt move and that the fence is square to the blade.
