Ok my question is what would be the best choice. I know the XXX are like the best subs to get. My real question I guess would be about cone area. Casue the 2 solo x would have more cone area there fore they would push more air and that would be louder correct. I'm looking for spl and sq. I'm not a real fan of JL audio though. JL makes real good subs and everything, just my personal opinion I don't like them.
Those two subs are totally two different types of subwoofers.
Yes, the Solo X will give you more cone area, but that doesn't always mean it'll be louder. It all comes down to install/box/ the rest of the system, etc.

I have owned both subs mentioned...The solo X's get a lot louder. The XXX's sound a lot better nand still are really loud... If SQL or SQ is desired.... I would go with the XXX's... If SPL I would go with Solo's..
@ Bruce.. The Solo X line of subs DO NOT BLOW! They are power and space hogs.., But serve their purpose.. They are a competition SPL sub. Nothing more... Nothing less!
yes this is another one of those threads. Just looking for some advice or opinions before I go and spend 5 stacks on a system. I want to make sure I have what I'm looking for.
Now I know there is no end all be all sub out there, and I know it all comes to the install and box. I'm currently runnin 2 2005 12 L7 Dual 2 ohm in a ported box wired in a series to a kicker 1200.1 amp. I build the box and did the install myself. I'm running all stinger wires, interconnector, d-blocks, cap and inline fuse. I heard and listened to just about every major sub brand out there. And to me my subs have been louder and have had better sq. Mostly likely cause of every ones set up. I've ran against some W7's and i thought mine sound better and hit a wider range of frequenices. But every article or forum i read every one says that solo barics are loud but have to sq. I want to up grade and be louder with good sq as well.
I just don't know what subs I want. I got everything else in place. I've just heard really good things about both subs. I've been a kicker fan since day one. I want to try something new thats is just as loud or louder than kicker solo x's and has better sq. Yes has far as the subs go I don't know which one I want which is why I want some opinions on what other people think. I not looking for any other brand or series of speakers just those two.
The new model, I don't know that much about the older model, from what I read on this site, people seem to say that the older model is louder than the newer one.
