I was wondering what gauge wire do i use to wire my two subs together.
and what is the item called that once the box is built you plug the wires to on the out side of the box and where could i find one.
i'm trying to build my own sub box

12 quage is the norm for wires. and I think you mean a terminal cup.
Radio shack is good for them, or ebay.
some ppl just drill a small hole and run it direct, or use bolts as teminals.
One dude just runs it out the port.

and will it matter if i cut a hole in the side of the box? like affect the air tight of the box?

yes, if you choose to drill a hole and run the wires thru it, Tie a loop in the wire on both sides so it cant be pulled or pushed from the box, and put a few dabs of caulk around it to keep it air tight.

Seal it with silicone.

Best connection is direct. Drill the hole, run the wire. A good tip is to tie a knot in the wire right at where it will pull through the box. Pull it tight and silicone it to the inside of the box.

I've always loved terminal cups/banana clips myself.

I love being lazy.

Long ago, out of shear curiousity I once tried using a......awwww fug, forget it lol.

Its mine too!!! I like the 71 tail lights better than the 69.
The car isn't complete though. It still has many more years of work on it and when i aquire the cash needed haha!
i would like to put it in the Pismo Car show out on the West Coast. It always has many many chevelles with a ton of ideas for your own.

Thank you Marc

Yeah i know what you mean P.rick
and i'm still debating on doing it myself or having it professionally done.
If i did it myself i would just make the boxes out of 3/4" MDS wood and carpet it along with the rest of the trunk but if i get it professionally done they want to do the same thing and charge me $500 for the entire trunk. Its worth it for a nice car to look good in but i some what feel i can do it myself and make it close to professional looking. But like i said i'm still deciding on what to do
