Hey guys i have an 12" Alpine Type S older model one, i have it in an unknown sized box, wired to 2 ohm, with a mtx tc8001 amp, its 800 watts rms @ 2 ohms. it sounds great and gets really loud, we kind of just did this to test it, but it sounded so good we left it in the car, will eventually upgrade to the type r or x, it still sounds good but, when you push the cone in, it makes that crunchy sound of a blown sub, but is still going, .. is this sub near the end of its life? any comments appreciated
