I would like to know which of these subs has better SQ.

I have an alpine typer for over a year and i am pretty satisfied with its output (i have done 140.4db at 42Hz) and sq as well.

Now i want to try something else and i can find the new RE SX in a very good price.

The problem is that i have heard the SX hasn't very good SQ.

In comparison with typer which sub has better SQ?

Thanks! :-)

typr r's are not a sq sub.. Neither is the SX.. I see no reson to change subs if you like the output of the type r.

i would venture to say that the SX's have more potential to get loud and sound slightly better SQ. The RE's are a higher end sub(compared to the type-r's)

enclosure and install considering.. also the sx's can handle more power than the typr-rs

you are only wanting to run 1 sub, right?

get the D2 ohm v.c.'s and you'll be fine with that amp.. cut back on the gain a lil bit.

as for the enclosure.. the sx like 33-36 hz boxes and with sub displacement that box will really make that sub happy.

Yes i want only 1 12" and i can find the sx in a very good price.

The alpine that i have now is dual 2 and i have set the gain a little lower for daily music.

Sorry i don't have any videos...

Two days ago i sold my Alpine 9812RB and now i have ordered the new pioneer premier p800rs.

So next step is changing my sub. :-)

I hope that:

SX = Typer in SQ and
SX > Typer in SPL

This right here says it all, if you're "pretty satisfied" why would you go and get something else? To me that is just plain stupid.

As i said before, that's because i want to try something else.

Probably with another sub i'll be more satisfied :-)

have owned Rs & worked with SX 10\12

R has better sq than a SX but obviously the SX is louder

SX is still a good upgrade though ...
