Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 930 Registered: Nov-07 | i think its a bad link cozce i was hoping it could take more than 1500 becuase i was thinking about getting an AQ3500D and 2 Fi Q 18s maybe loaded BLs? |
New member Username: Kingandsons07Lincoln, TEAM RD USA Post Number: 6 Registered: Aug-08 | i had 1500rms on my 18" Q and it wanted more and that setup should be good 1750 per sub or have you seen the 18" RD Alpha 1500-2000rms or are you just looking for sq? |
Gold Member Username: Surferdude9371Im BTL Bumpin Post Number: 1121 Registered: Mar-07 | really depends on the size bud |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 8204 Registered: Jul-06 | LOL size is irrelevant..... the Q is rated for 1000w and can take 1200-1500 with BP I just ordered 2 10" Qs and I will be running 1500w each to them |
New member Username: Kingandsons07Lincoln, TEAM RD USA Post Number: 7 Registered: Aug-08 | and i wanted to put more power on my 18" |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 931 Registered: Nov-07 | i guess im not looking for just SQ. i just wanted something with descent range. is the alpha considered SPL or more of a SQL sub? |
Silver Member Username: Goodie_goopMid town, Texas U.S. Post Number: 969 Registered: Oct-06 | alpha = SQL |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 933 Registered: Nov-07 | i need some opinions - what would you guys get to put on an AQ3500D? (2) Fi Q with BP Power 18s (2) Fi BL Loaded 18s (2) RD Alpha V.2 18s (2) DD 3518 other suggestions are welcome thanks in advance |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 8220 Registered: Jul-06 | Personally, the Qs.... I like the low end extension of them compared to other subs. But not more than 1500w to each. Or the DDs if you like loudness more than low end output. |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 934 Registered: Nov-07 | i want something that is going to smash the lows so im leaning towards the Qs. (2) 18 inch Qs with BP power or... (3) 12 inch Qs with BP power? pending a good install - would 3 12s on 3500 be louder than 2 18s on 3000? |
Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 957 Registered: May-07 | what would your ohm impendance be wiring 3- 12's together? |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 935 Registered: Nov-07 | 3 dual 1s to .67 and probably around 1 ohm after rise |
Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 958 Registered: May-07 | i would say the 18's...less stress on the amp.. if you got the room for 2- 18's ported.... do it. |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 936 Registered: Nov-07 | any thoughts on loaded BLs? |
Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 959 Registered: May-07 | i dont have any experience with bl's.. Wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction. sorry |
Silver Member Username: Hittin1Lake Charles, La. United States Post Number: 960 Registered: May-07 | i think you would be happy with the q's though |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 937 Registered: Nov-07 | i am thinking that I will be as well but i dont want to buy an amp and not use it to its full potential any other suggestions for 2 18s on an AQ3500D? |
Gold Member Username: 420alldaylongPost Number: 3806 Registered: Sep-06 | 2 18" Fi Q's on an AQ3500D is my pick. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 8222 Registered: Jul-06 | You may have to do 15s....... fyi the Q 18s need like 6-10 cu.ft. each, do you have that much space? |

Bronze Member Username: Kingandsons07Lincoln, TEAM RD USA Post Number: 12 Registered: Aug-08 | i would go with the Q's if you don't feel safe putting that much power on them i would go with the Alpha's. two 18" Alpha's would sound bad a(s |

Gold Member Username: Livin_loudPost Number: 2560 Registered: Jan-06 | from my experience with my 18" Q it has superb low end. leaves a bit to be desired around 50hz+. running about 1000w to it, if that. ported @ 32hz in 7cuft. very clean too. not extremely loud, but i haven't heard another 1 sub setup go nearly as low/loud without sounding like sh!t. if i had a choice i would go with 2 15's instead. however if i had an suv i'd stick another 18 in. sucks being restricted to a trunk... supposedly the BL is a little louder, but doesn't keep the same low end extension. Q > BL in the SQ category obviously, but not by a lot allegedly. |
Gold Member Username: TejcurrentPost Number: 1436 Registered: Apr-07 | The BLs can definitely sound good in the right enclosure. |
Silver Member Username: BonhamdTC, MI USA Post Number: 940 Registered: Nov-07 | hey kevin i havent recieved it and checked the junk box as well - please re send when you have a chance i guess what i really want is SQL but i want something that is going to be mean on the lows but still maintain good range |
