Saturday, July 26, 2008 - 22:40 GMT I'm trying to put 3 dvc 4ohm subs on a 1ohm amp. My load cal. says that three 2ohm subs in series is a .67 load and I've heard that the inpedence rises once hooked up, is this true? If so will it rise enough to make it safe to run a 1ohm amp to them? I need at least 2000 watts, any help would be appreciated

Sunday, July 27, 2008 - 23:43 GMT They are actually dvc 4ohm subs and they are pioneer 3000spl's. I know I could wire them up as three 8ohm subs but that would give me a 2.67 load, which would be hard to find an amp for. I would need somethin that gave me around 2500-3000watts @ 2ohms. That would be expensive.

Monday, July 28, 2008 - 16:55 GMT Buying a more expensive amp > blowing an amp from low impedance What amp is it? There are some 1 ohm amps that can handle .67 ohm daily but most can not.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 07:54 GMT Kicker Zx2500.1 is 2ohm stable (2500+RMS)($400-$700) Or you could sell one sub like juliob said and get a AQ2200D 2200+MS at 1ohm for $389 shipped.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 20:28 GMT I understand that it would be more expensive and thats the whole point of this thread. I haven't bought the amp yet so I was asking if it was even a good idea to try it and if not I would go with Lanzar opti 2000d which is stable at a half ohm.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 21:10 GMT I would go with that Kicker amp. The opti 2000d would handle the impedance but that is nowhere near as good quality.

Thursday, July 31, 2008 - 00:35 GMT Haha I know you like Lanzar amps but do you really think it's on the same level of quality as Kicker?
