Wondering which of these 2 amps would power it best or if there is anything else that would be better for $500 or less. Thanks Amp 1 - http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18538 Amp 2 - http://sonicelectronix.com/item_12212_Hifonics+BXi+2608D.html |

The hifonics amps are over rated too no where near like the crunch but the hifonics amps are known to have issues from time to time. If i was you Id look for the old orion 2500d there is someone on here selling a used one for 350 shipped. The new orion amps claim a higher rating but are half their rated power in true rms. This is all assuming you have dual 2 ohm voice coils because thats the only way youll get a 1 ohm load. I also hope you have a high output alternator because you have an amp there capable of 225 to 250 amps of draw and thats not counting any other amps you are running or your cars basic electrical needs. heres a link to the guy selling the orion 2500d https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/503688.html |

New member Username: Bone32Post Number: 6 Registered: Jun-08 | I thought you had to have 4 ohm to wire it down to 1 ohm... i always thought it wasnt possible to do it with a 2 ohm |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 9990 Registered: Jun-04 | Dual 4 ohm coils can be wired to 2 ohms or 8 ohms and a dual 2 ohm can be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms but fi only makes dual 1 and dual 2 ohm coils and if you got dual 1 ohms you can only wire it to .5 ohms or 2 ohms. And you need buy an amp stable at your final ohm load that produces the power you want. Plus like I said you need the electrical support from your charging to support that kind of power or bad things can happen. Heres a link for wiring options. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=12 |
