tweeter and mid in the kick panel off of dls A3 2 channel amp................CDT Audio HD-52 - CDT Audio High Definition 5.25" 2-Way Component Speakers
mid bass in the door off of kicker kx200.2..........CDT Audio M6+ - CDT Audio 6.5" 240 Watt Mid-Bass/Sub-Bass Drivers
Looks sexy chadly. The M6+ mids are beasts. I would mess around with the tweeters in the A pillars and down in the pods and see what you like more.. I feel they sound cleaner up high. Then again its a completely different tweet and in an SUV.
Mike told me you guys have been chatting about this, hah.
I got your emails and I'll hit you up as soon as I get back..heading out of the house for a few hours. I can't remember if you gave me a budget or not. If not, email that to me. Also let me know active or passive. I'll see what I can work out for you.
honestly i don't mind running a m6+ with the setup i have now but i want matching speakers. also 6.5inch might be too big in the kick. most likely though i am gonna go with the mid bass first to see how it sounds.
No, I was just saying your name... like: "What's up weaksauce?"
But seriously, Mike has the right idea. You are going to get more accurate mids out of a 4" driver and I would look into going with an 8" driver for your mid-bass to get that FS slam you are always looking for. Build some door pods with Berny just for the 8. An 8 that is flat down to say 60hz, a 4" mid that extends out to 3-4k (to avoid crossing over in the ultra-critical 1k range) and a high-powered dome that can take it from there to 20k would be your ideal setup for the type of music you listen to. ScanSpeak, Morel, Seas, Eton, Audax etc. will be light years beyond any car audio drivers.
And how is that not a 3-way setup? I wouldn't go that low with the mid. Mid woofer = 80-500, mid = 500-4k, tweeter = 4-20k. Those are near ideal crossover points which maximize phase response while flattening amplitude peaks and dips at the critical frequencies.
ill warn you now, i ran two different sets of cdt comps.. none of them sounded natural.. they get loud and sound good but did not reproduce the sounds like they should have been
i am trying to go the route of having subs up front. my original plan was a pair of jl6w3v2's in my door. but exige audio showed me a vid of the m6+ so that is why i am going with those.
the more i think about it i want to keep my dls up front. not sure though. lets see what exige can come up with.
I knew Chad made this thread when I saw "awesome" in the title along with sq and front stage.
Have fun testig out the CDT's. The only thing I like is the m6+. Had the m6 and those shake my doors like crazy. I know the m6+ is going to be a beast compared to the regular model.
lol @ brad. bunch of jokers. hahaha. i'll see you on aim when i get home man. you better be on. i hate it when you say you'll come on and you are not there.
Alright Chad check your email. The offer is much better than what you had in mind. I know your expectations in speakers and I'm out to meet them for you.
